FAQ

How do I access university canteens?

Unige and AFAM students can access university canteens in Genova and Savona using the ‘Aliseo Risto’ app.
Instructions for downloading and activating the app can be found at the following link.

Please note that in order to download the app, you must have completed your enrolment and have your student ID number.
Unige students receive their student ID number directly from the University.
AFAM students (only and exclusively AFAM students!) are assigned their student ID number by Aliseo. AFAM students who have applied for a scholarship already have one. Otherwise, you must send an email to ristorazione@aliseo.liguria.it .

Without the “Aliseo Risto” app, you can still eat at the canteens by identifying yourself with your Unige virtual badge, but you will pay the maximum amount, i.e. €8.00 for a full meal and €6.50 for a reduced meal.

All other users affiliated with or authorised by Aliseo must identify themselves at the canteen cash desks.

How can I access hospital canteens?

First of all, please note that you can eat in hospital canteens ONLY if you are a student enrolled at the School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and are attending a course or internship at one of the hospitals that has a canteen affiliated with Aliseo.

In order to eat in these canteens, you need the ‘Aliseo buoni pasto cartacei’ (Aliseo paper meal vouchers), which you can request by sending an email to ristorazione@aliseo.liguria.it.
Please refer to this link for the application procedure.
Here you can find a list of hospital canteens affiliated with Aliseo.

How do I request Aliseo meal vouchers for hospital canteens?

First of all, please note that you can request meal vouchers ONLY if you are a student enrolled at the School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and are attending a course or internship at one of the hospitals with a canteen affiliated with Aliseo.

What is the procedure for requesting them?

Send an email to ristorazione@aliseo.liguria.it, specifying your full name, university registration number, and self-declaring the course you are enrolled in.

For affiliated hospital canteens in Genova and Chiavari, meal vouchers are delivered to the cash desk of the Casa dello Studente di Gastaldi canteen in Corso Gastaldi 25, Genova.

For affiliated hospital canteens in Savona, Pietra Ligure, La Spezia, Sarzana and Bussana, collection methods must be agreed with the Catering Service.

I am a university student: how much do I pay in the canteen?

The cost of a meal varies depending on the tariff band.

The tariff varies depending on whether you are, for example: a scholarship student; an international exchange student; a student “outside the bracket”, i.e. who does not meet the requirements for ISEE/ISEEUP-based subsidised rate…

To find out how much you will pay in the canteen, please refer to this link , where you will find a table detailing the tariffs and meal composition.

I applied for a scholarship and was found to be ‘idoneo’ (eligible’) in the provisional ranking: how much do I pay for meals?

On 29 September 2025, the provisional scholarship ranking is published.

What rate applies between 30 September 2025 and 30 October 2025, i.e. after the provisional ranking list is published and before the final ranking list is published?

If you were already a scholarship student in the 2024/2025 academic year, you will continue to benefit from the ‘Studenti borsisti Aliseo’ (‘Aliseo scholarship students’) rate until 30 October 2025, meaning that until that date you will be entitled to one free meal and a second meal at a cost of £2.50 per day.

However, if you have applied for your first scholarship, for the period indicated above (i.e. from 30 September 2025 to 30 October 2025), you will be charged the Band 1 rate, meaning you will pay £3.00 per meal.

With the publication of the final ranking, students who have been awarded scholarships will automatically be placed in the ‘Studenti borsisti’ (‘Aliseo scholarship students’) tariff band (first meal free and second meal of the day at a cost of €2.50).
‘Non idonei’ (‘Ineligible’) students, if they meet the necessary requirements, are automatically placed in band 1.
