What is the rental contribution?

The rental contribution is an increase in the scholarship amount for university students who are eligible for the Aliseo scholarship but who have not been allocated accommodation due to a lack of availability, or who attend courses where there is no AliSEO housing available.

Can I choose between accommodation and rental contribution?

It depends on the case:

  • Before the publication of the final rankings (on the date foreseen by the announcement), it is not possible to choose between the rental contribution and the accommodation place. For this reason, all students who have received the expression of interest email for the allocation of accommodation must respond by the deadline indicated in the email. If the student gives up the accommodation, he/she will be considered as commuter for the scholarship pourpose and will not be eligible for the rental contribution.
  • After the publication of the final rankings, if the student is subsequently contacted for a place in Aliseo’s accomodation and in the meantime has already signed a rental contract and requested the rental contribution, he will be able to freely choose between the rental contribution and the ALISEO university residence, without any risk or penalty.

  • If the student has signed a contract for a guesthouse or residence/college/hostel that is not subject to registration, they must upload it by the deadline, clearly showing the clauses governing accommodation and the signature of the contract.

What types of contracts are considered valid?

  • The contract must be duly registered with the Agenzia delle Entrate and also any renewal must be registered, pursuant to law 9 December 1998, n. 431 “Regulations for the leases and release of properties used for residential use” and subsequent amendments and additions;
  • A derogation from the duly registered contract is permitted in the case of a guest house or residence/college contract, not subject to registration, which in any case must contain the clauses governing the hospitality and subscription of the parties.

Where can I rent the accommodation?

Accommodation must be in the same location as the student attends the course of study.

When can I submit the rental contribution application?

Every year Aliseo publishes on its website the start date for submitting applications and instructions on how to do so. The deadline is set by the announcement and falls on December 31st of each year.

What happens if the rental contract does not cover the entire academic year?

If the rental contract does not cover all 10 months specified in the call for applications, it is possible to submit a second contract that starts from the expiry date of the first and runs until July, so as to cover the entire period required.

If the student is unable to sign a new contract or renew the previous one, only the months covered by the contract already submitted will be considered for reimbursement.

How can i make the rent payments?

  • To receive a refund of the Aliseo rental contribution, payments of the monthly fees must be made by bank transfer.
