Economic Benefits Service

The university benefits constitute the fundamental intervention of the right to education, pursuant to art. 34 of the Italian Constitution, aimed at capable and deserving students, whose economic conditions are not sufficient to reach the highest levels of study.

The benefits can be requested by students enrolled at the University of Genoa and at the Institutions for Higher Education in Art and Music (AFAM) based in the Liguria region.

The criteria for assigning benefits are governed by the d.P.C.M. 9 April 2001 and by legislative decree 29 March 2012, n. 68 and the competition notice for the academic year in reference.

The benefits granted by competion are:

  • scholarship
  • accomodation
  • additional grant for international mobility program
  • interventions for students with disabilities

SPID is required to access the student portal and apply for scholarships

SPID allows you to access the online services of the Public Administration and private subscribers in a simple, secure and fast way.

From 1 March 2021, in order to apply for university or school financial benefits, it is necessary to have SPID credentials (at least level 2) or the Electronic Identity Card (CIE).

The credentials (user and password) already issued will still be valid until 30 September 2021.

If you have already activated your digital identity or have an Electronic Identity Card (CIE), you will not have to do anything else: using them will allow you to access your personal area immediately.

If, on the other hand, you have not yet activated SPID, you can find all the necessary information and activation options to choose from at https://www.spid.gov.it/richiedi-spid; by selecting the individual Identity Provider you will find more details on the service offered as well as the starting point for activating your digital identity.

Exceptions to the use of SPID/CIE

Until further notice, the ALiSEO accreditation procedure can be carried out without the use of SPID or CIE credentials by students who, on the date of application, are

  1. under the age of 18;
  2. not in possession of a valid Italian identity document.

Question:I am a foreigner in Italy, how can I obtain SPID?”

Answer:  You must be in possession of a valid Italian identification document (such as an identity card) and a tax code card, an e-mail address and a mobile phone for personal use.

If you have a residence permit, you can apply for an Italian identity card and present it during the SPID activation request phase. On the “Agenzia delle Entrate” website you can check the appropriate procedure for obtaining a tax code. You can contact one of the nine digital identity managers accredited by the Agency for Digitalization of Italy (AGID). You can find all the activation procedures on the page “Richiedi SPID” together with all the information on the different ways of recognition.
